Interview: Ethan Joy

The word Joy is not just a clever gimmick for one of Flirt4Free’s most beautiful men. Since Ethan Joy joined our site in late 2016, fans have raved about his unique combination of physical perfection, sweetness and sexiness. Many have said that he excels in making his viewers feel welcome and special, whether it’s with his show-stopping smile, his playful warmth, or his pure sexual animalism, “Joy” is repeated over and over again by those lucky enough to spend time with him (once they catch their breath after one of his seductive, high-energy private shows). While he may come off as shy and thoughtful at first eye-popping glance, Ethan is renowned for putting his mind, body and soul into every performance. We sat down with 2018’s Xbiz Male Cam Model of the Year to talk about everything from his love of bodybuilding to his silliest on-cam moments. We hope you enjoy the interview, transcribed below.

Charles Farley: Tell us what inspired your stage name?
Ethan Joy: Well, when I first started camming, everyone said I was a joy to look at. They said I have a beautiful smile and just by simply looking at me, I can make someone feel very good. So this is how Ethan Joy came to life.

CF: Where are you from?
EJ: Well I was born and raised in Romania. It's a country that I am very proud of, with many beautiful traditions and breathtaking sights. I had a pretty normal childhood, growing up with all my neighbors, who were also my friends. I had so much fun with them. We used to play hide & seek all day long, and annoy our parents. As a teenager, I started acting like a gangsta boy - I used to listen to Eminem & D-12 so much. I also got into trance music for a time, and dreamed about those big open-air festivals that are all over the world.

CF: What drew you to cam modeling? What has it taught you about yourself?
EJ: I began my career as a fitness trainer and during that time it felt natural to move into camming. I was determined to achieve another level of sexual expression, and performing does that for me while playing into my very sociable nature. I’ve become passionate about performing. The show means nothing if you don’t put your heart and soul into it.

CF: You rocked a lot of amazing costumes in your chatroom for the Halloween Celebration. Do you any favorites?
EJ: Like always, I love to play with different costumes, so I dressed up as a doctor, cop - these two are my favorite - and I also came dressed as a stripper. I wanted to let my naughty, wild side out this year, so I also broke out a bondage costume, too. I love Halloween!

CF: What holiday events on Flirt4Free do you most look forward to?
EJ: Christmas continues to be one of my favorite holiday events because I really love celebrating Christmas. During this time of year, I'm full of energy and, plus, I like naughty Santa. (laughs)

CF: Do you have any favorite scenarios for roleplay? What gets your creative juices flowing in chat?
EJ: First of all, I enjoy interacting with my members. They are the reason I am here. I am a sociable person by nature, so I like meeting new people every day. I really enjoy talking and sharing with them, and try to take the time to get to know each new visitor so we can create something unique together. So this is what keeps me going. In terms of role play, let's say I'm open!

CF: Outside of camming, what are you most passionate about? How do you relax or “geek out”?
EJ: Well, besides being a cam model, I’m also a personal trainer, so I spend most of my time in the gym. But otherwise I like going out with my friends, watching a movie or enjoying walks in park or just around the city. To relax, sometimes I shop or play video games.

CF: What are your favorite movies and why?
EJ: I'm a huge fan of the Avengers. Actually, I like every movie with super heroes. What can I say? I'm still young at heart. The last move I saw was Venom. Man, I had a blast!

CF: What is the fastest way for a new fan to win your heart? And what should they expect from your private shows?
EJ: The fastest way to win my heart is to show respect and kindness. That’s the key. As for my private shows, I consider them entertaining and hot. I’m really committed to what I do on camera, because if I don’t feel it, I’m sure my Flirt friends won’t either.

CF: Do you have any plans for a duo or group shows in your future?
EJ: Well, let's say that I began performing by myself and I would like to remain like this. Plus I haven't found that person who could be my partner on camera yet. So I'm ok by myself because I want my members to remain my members.

CF: What’s the funniest experience you’ve had on cam?
EJ: I can't call them embarrassing moments. They are funny moments. For example, I was changing my clothes once and I forgot to turn the camera off. (laughs) Everyone applauded because I never appear full nude in open chat.
